A translation-rotation fitting (7) is arranged on the base (4) lower face facing away from the cover panel (6) and/or on the cover panel (6) upper face facing away from the base (4), said translation-rotation fitting being usable for moving the furniture element (2) from a starting position into an open end position and back into the starting position in a combined translation-rotation movement, wherein at least one receiving element (8) for fixing the at least one profiled element (5) is arranged in an edge region (42, 62) of the base (4) and the cover panel (6). The invention additionally relates to a piece of furniture comprising at least one such furniture element (2).
