[origin: WO2022063414A1] The invention relates to a method for monitoring the interior of a vehicle, the method comprising the following method steps: - automatically detecting the presence of a living being in the interior of the vehicle by means of at least one infrared sensor; - automatically determining, multiple times, the body temperature of the living being present in the interior by means of the infrared sensor, within a time interval; - automatically identifying risk on the basis of the determined values of the body temperature; and - automatically triggering action if a risk was identified; wherein the steps of detecting presence, determining body temperature, identifying risk and triggering action are carried out by means of a data processing device of the vehicle, which data processing device receives and processes infrared sensor signals or infrared sensor data from the infrared sensor.
