[origin: WO2022063821A1] The invention relates to a bus-capable, and more particularly also network-capable, daisy-chainable function module (1) for controlling and/or monitoring technical processes, more particularly in industrial automation systems and/or in industrial IoT (Internet of Things) systems, having – a mounting base (2) with latching means for fastening on a carrier rail with at least one lateral bus conductor contact, and with a plug connector which is connected to the bus conductor contact; − a circuit board (3) inserted in the plug connector along a first edge (31), said circuit board having contact elements (36) on a second edge (35) parallel to the first edge; − a lead frame (4) which is hinged to pivot on the mounting base (2) and in a pivoted-in position extends over the circuit board (3) along its second edge (35) and provides at least one insertion slot (43); − at least one terminal module (5) which is pushed into the at least one insertion slot (43) and provides terminals (51) at an accessible top side and at an opposite bottom side has a connector (52) which, in a pivoted-in position of the lead frame (4), is pushed onto the circuit board (3) and contacts the contact elements (36) of the circuit board. The function module (1) is characterised in that – the circuit board (3) is designed in a stepped manner along its second edge (35), as a result of which at least two portions (35a, 35b) are formed into which the circuit board (3) projects by different distances in the direction of the lead frame (4), wherein – the contact elements (36) for the connector (52) of the at least one terminal module (5) are located in a first portion (35a), and wherein – the circuit board (3) has, in a second portion (35b), at least one terminal element (37) which can be directly accessed through an opening (44) in the lead frame (4).
