[origin: CA3194206A1] The invention relates to a polymer substrate (1) for producing polymer value papers (2) or polymer security papers (3), to a polymer value paper (2) or a polymer security paper (3), and to a method for producing a polymer substrate (1). The polymer substrate (1) comprises a polymer support layer (4) and at least one security element (5), wherein the security element (5) is applied onto and/or into the polymer support layer (4), and a primer (6) is at least partly applied onto a first substrate side (7) and/or a second substrate side (8) of the polymer substrate (1). The primer (6) is at least partly arranged between the polymer support layer (4) and the security element (5) and/or at least partly covers the security element (5) and/or the polymer support layer (4). Security element (5) regions covered by the primer (6) are less readily visible than security element (5) regions not covered by the primer (6) and/or polymer support layer (4) regions not covered by the primer (6).
