[origin: WO2022074288A1] The invention relates to an independent aeroponic farming unit for growing tuber plants or root vegetable plants having an aerial shoot and underground root part, the unit comprises a aeroponic cultivation system comprising a plant support base for supporting the plant, a growing chamber, the growing chamber walls being non-transparent and one or more growing liquid spraying system arranged to spray growing liquid to the growing chamber. The unit comprises further first local energy production device connected to the spraying system. The present invention further relates to a method for independent aeroponic farming.
