A ram air turbine (200) assembly includes one or more airfoils (206) and a ram turbine (204) operably connected to the one or more airfoils. The ram air turbine includes: a rotor (302); a stator (304) that includes windings; and a self-regulating heater (330, 700) coupled to the stator. The self-regulating heater configured to vary power that passes through it based on a temperature of the heater.
