The vehicle (2) has a plurality of components and/or functions with modifiable properties, a control unit (35) for changing the properties, and a vehicle communication unit (36) for an at least temporary transmission of data between the vehicle (2) and the vehicle-external server (34). The vehicle-external server (34) additionally has a server communication unit (37) for an at least temporary transmission of data between the vehicle-external server (34) and the vehicle (2) and/or a user terminal (3). According to the invention, the vehicle-external server (34) is equipped with a user platform which can be accessed from the vehicle (2) and/or by means of the user terminal (3) and on which an appearance can be selected from a plurality of appearances available to the vehicle (2). Furthermore, the vehicle-external server (34) is equipped with a computing unit (38) for generating a data packet on the basis of the selected appearance, wherein the data packet is suitable for processing in the control unit (35) in the vehicle (2) in order to change the properties of the plurality of components and/or functions in a matching manner. The data packet is transmitted from the vehicle-external server (34) to the control unit (35) by means of the communication units (36, 37) and is processed by the control unit (35), which sets the properties of the plurality of components and/or functions.
