Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zur Umspulung von Garnen (3) von einer Vorlagespule (17) auf eine Spulenhülse (5) zur Bildung einer Spule (2). Die Vorrichtung weist eine Steuerung (27) und ein Maschinengestell (26) und einen im Maschinengestell (26) drehfest gehaltenen Spulendorn (18) zur Aufnahme der Vorlagespule (17) und eine Spulvorrichtung (1) und eine Fadenbremse (16) zur Einstellung einer Garnspannung auf. Eine Halterung (19) des Spulendorns (18) weist eine Verwiegung der Vorlagespule (17) auf, wobei durch die Steuerung (27) eine Einstellung der Fadenbremse (16) aufgrund der Verwiegung der Vorlagespule (17) vorgesehen ist.
