[origin: WO2022090165A1] The present invention relates to a method for inspecting pipelines, in particular oil-carrying, gas-carrying or water-carrying pipelines, wherein a wall of the pipeline is magnetized by means of a magnetization device of a first device designed as a pig, and wherein a magnetization present in the pipeline wall is used and/or measured for inspection purposes, in particular at a later point in time, as residual magnetization by means of a second device which is separate from the first device and designed as an inspection device. The invention also relates to an associated inspection device. A method for inspecting pipelines, in particular oil-carrying, gas-carrying or water-carrying pipelines, wherein a wall of the pipeline is magnetized by means of a magnetization device of a first device designed as a pig, characterised in that a magnetization present in the pipeline wall is used and/or measured for inspection purposes, in particular at a later point in time, as residual magnetization by means of a second device which is separate from the first device and designed as an inspection device.
