Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2021078862A1] The invention relates to a method for the transmission (200) of a message by a transmitter device (20) of a communication system (10). The message contains an identifier of the transmitter device and a message number. The identifier is ambiguous in the sense that the identifier may be shared by multiple different transmitter devices. The transmission method (200) comprises determining (203) the message number to be used for the message to be transmitted, firstly on the basis of a message number sequence (222) assigned to the transmitter device (20) and secondly on the basis of a message number (223) of a previous message transmitted by the transmitter device (20). One and the same sequence may be assigned to various transmitter devices having different identifiers, but it may not be assigned to another transmitter device having the same identifier. A reception method according to the invention may then unambiguously identify the transmitter device.
