Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Behandeln einer Papier-, Karton- oder einer anderen Faserstoffbahn (2) vor deren Glättung.Dabei soll eine optimale Oberflächenqualität der Faserstoffbahn (2) bei möglichst wenig Volumenverlust dadurch erreicht werden, dass die Faserstoffbahn (2) innerhalb wenigstens einer Teilbehandlung befeuchtet, anschließend mit Luft gekühlt und danach wieder befeuchtet wird.
