Erfindungsgemäß sind die Drehpunkte der Anlenkachsen (6) der Spreizarme (12) in den Armen (11) radial weiter von einer vertikalen Mittelachse (21) des Mast (20) beabstandet als die Drehpunkte (7) der Schwenkachsen im unteren Kragen (13) und die Drehpunkte (8) der Anlenkachsen im oberen Kragen (14), und die Arretiervorrichtung (2) besitzt mindestens ein an dem oberen Kragen (14) befestigtes starres Eingriffselement (3) und eine Mehrzahl von an einem jeweiligen freien Ende der Arme (11) befestigte starre Gegenelemente (4), welche in geschlossenem Zustand des Spreizgestells (10) ineinander verhakt sind.So wird eine Wäschespinne geschaffen, welche sich einfach öffnen und sicher in geschlossenem Zustand halten lässt.Die Erfindung betrifft auch ein Verfahren zum Auffalten bzw.
