[origin: WO2022153006A1] The invention relates to a modular comb element (10) for a machine (2) for automatic cutting of a mat of sheets of material, the cutting machine comprising a plurality of cutting support members (4) each having a plurality of bristles (6) on which the mat (M) rests, the comb element comprising a plate forming a support member (12) from which a first and a second row of teeth extend longitudinally, the teeth (14) in the first row alternating with the teeth (16) in the second row, and a free end of the teeth in the first row being further away from an upstream edge of the support member than a free end of the teeth in the second row of teeth, a ramp (18) mounted on the upstream edge of the support member and inclined relative to the latter so as to limit the contact surface between the mat of sheets and the comb element, and means for applying air to an upstream edge of the ramp across the entire width of the latter in order to facilitate unloading/loading of the mat of sheets.
