[origin: WO2022101039A1] A method of thermally deforming an optical element, the optical element comprising a material whose coefficient of thermal expansion is temperature dependent, the method comprising: transferring heat to or from the optical element to establish a temperature set point for the optical element such that the coefficient of thermal expansion has a non-zero value, and heating the optical element to produce a thermal deformation of the optical element.
