[origin: WO2022112547A1] The invention relates to a device (10) for assisting the movement of the load (12) on a surface (14), the device (10) comprising: - a monocycle gyropod (16) equipped with a motorised wheel (18) intended to roll on the surface (14), a frame (22) and at least one gyroscopic sensor (24) enabling an inclination of the frame (22) to be measured, the gyroscopic sensor (24) controlling the motorisation of the wheel (18), - two lateral supports (28, 30) connected to the frame (22) and able to move on the surface (14), - a braking mechanism for each of the two lateral supports (28, 30), configured to brake the movement of the lateral support (28, 30) in question on the surface (14) according to a reaction force exerted by the surface (14) on the lateral support (28, 30) in question.
