[origin: WO2022112221A2] A description is given of an apparatus (100, 200) having a processing unit (110) that is designed to receive scanning information (120a) relating to a two-dimensional scan (120b) of a surface (130). The processing unit (110) is also designed to receive position information (120c) indicating an inclination of a capture unit (120, 510), which provides the two-dimensional scan (120b), with respect to the surface (130) and to evaluate the scanning information (120a) using the position information (120c) for locating the capture unit (120, 510) relative to the surface (130).
