Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von unsubstituierten oder wenigstens einfach substituierten Cycloalkanonen durch elektrochemische Oxidation von unsubstituierten oder wenigstens einfach substituierten, gesättigten cycloaliphatischen Kohlenwasserstoffen durch elektrochemische Oxidation in Gegenwart eines anorganischen oder organischen Nitratsalzes in einer Elektrolysezelle in einem Reaktionsmedium in Gegenwart von Sauerstoff.
