[origin: WO2022117668A1] The invention relates to a hand dryer (10). The hand dryer (10) is intended to avoid potential health risks particularly effectively. For this purpose, the hand dryer (10) has: a shroud-like housing (12) with an interior space (14) having an opening (16) for parts of the body to be dried; a first filter element (22) for filtering air taken in; at least one nozzle (24), by means of which the filtered air is conducted out into the interior space (14) of the housing (12); a second filter element (34), by means of which the air conducted into the interior space (14) of the housing (12) by the nozzle (24) is filtered; and an outlet (32), by means of which the air filtered by the second filter element (34) is conducted out of the housing (12). The invention also relates to a method for operating a hand dryer (10).
