[origin: US2023312195A1] A container, preferably in the form of a bucket, includes a closure for closing the container. The closure includes a closed lid plate that is placeable on a container rim bounding a container opening in order to cover the container opening. A lock ring is placeable over the lid plate and screwable to the container. The lid plate is fixable to the container with the lock ring. A seal ring is arranged between the container rim and lid plate for sealing the container opening. The lid plate has a rim portion with a receiving portion, in particular U-shaped, that receives the container rim and encompasses the container rim radially from the inside and outside.

Behälter (1), insbesondere Kunststoffbehälter, vorzugsweise in Form eines Eimers, mit einem Verschluss (2) zum Verschließen des Behälters (1) mit: einer geschlossenen Deckelplatte (4), die zum Abdecken einer Behälteröffnung auf einem die Behälteröffnung begrenzenden Behälterrand (10) platzierbar ist; einem über der Deckelplatte (4) platzierbaren und mit dem Behälter (1) verschraubbaren Verschlussring (8), mittels dessen die Deckelplatte (4) auf dem Behälter (1) fixierbar ist, und einem zum Abdichten der Behälteröffnung zwischen dem Behälterrand (10) und der Deckelplatte (4) angeordneten Dichtring (6). Die Deckelplatte (4) weist einen Randabschnitt mit einem, insbesondere u-förmigen, Aufnahmeabschnitt (12) auf, der den Behälterrand (10) aufnimmt und radial von innen und außen umfasst.
