Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2022122581A1] The invention relates to a method for operating a heat pump (1) which transfers heat to a fluid heat transfer medium that circulates in a heating circuit, the method comprising the detection of an external temperature and the detection of a run time of an electric heating rod (2) of the heat pump (1) and/or of energy consumed by the heating rod (2) if the external temperature is higher than a limit temperature. If the run time exceeds a first limit value within a defined time period and/or the energy consumed by the heating rod (2) within the defined time period exceeds a second limit value, a message is output.
