[origin: WO2022129574A1] The invention relates to a method for detecting a person getting into and/or out of a bed (10) by means of at least one monitoring device (20) for monitoring a peripheral region (18) of the bed (10), wherein the monitoring device (20) has at least two sensors (22, 24, 62) for contactless object detection in a detection range (26, 28, 64) of the respective sensor (22, 24, 62), and wherein the detection ranges (26, 28, 64) of the sensors (22, 24, 62) cover the peripheral region (18) of the bed (10) to be jointly monitored. According to the invention, the fact that a person is getting into/out of bed in the peripheral region (18) of the bed (10) to be monitored is determined by evaluating a signal combination of sensor signals (56, 58, 66) of the sensors (22, 24, 62) of the monitoring device (20), wherein at least one sensor (22) of the at least two sensors (22, 24, 62) in the monitoring device (20) is a capacitive sensor (22) for contactless object detection. The invention furthermore relates to a corresponding monitoring device (20) and to a corresponding monitoring system having a plurality of monitoring devices (20).
