[origin: WO2022157428A1] The invention relates to a method for warning of a risk of stalling in a heat engine (13) of a motor vehicle, comprising a step of calculating, as a function of driving parameters and external environment parameters, a critical speed threshold (S_vc) and/or a critical engine speed threshold (S_rc), a step of estimating a critical duration at the end of which the critical speed threshold (S_vc) and/or the critical engine speed threshold (S_rc) will be reached, and a step of outputting a warning signal for a driver when the critical duration becomes less than a parametrizable time threshold so that the driver has enough time to disengage the clutch.
