[origin: EP4043193A1] A method of manufacturing a spectacle lens (11) with at least one diffusing zone (13) and at least one a clear zone (12) is provided. The method comprises the steps of:- providing a lens blank;- applying a material removing process to the lens blank so as to achieve an intermediate spectacle lens (11') with a final shape and a mat surface (11'b); and- converting at least a part of the mat surface (11'b) of the intermediate spectacle lens (11') into a transparent surface by means of a finishing process.The at least one diffusing zone (13) is formed by altering the finishing process for a first portion (13') of the surface that shall become the at least one diffusing zone (13) as compared to the finishing process for a second portion (12') of the surface (11'b) that shall become the at least one clear zone (12) such that the surface of the first portion (13') remains a mat surface while she surface of the second portion (12') becomes a transparent surface.
