[origin: WO2022167738A1] The invention relates to a method and system for communicating data between a vehicle (10) and a mobile application (220) of a mobile communication device (11). For communication purposes, the mobile communication device (11) is coupled with the vehicle (10) via a wireless connection (200). A network extension (210) is configured in the mobile communication device (11) and implemented by the operating system of the mobile communication device (11). This network extension (210) is configured, on the one hand, to set up a secure link (201) with the mobile application (220) in the mobile communication device (11), for example via the implementation of a local virtual private network, and, on the other hand, to set up a communication with the vehicle (10) via the wireless connection (200).
