[origin: WO2022174945A1] The invention relates to an item of seating furniture (14), in particular a chair, comprising: a plane of symmetry (15); a seat surface (17); a backrest (3); a kinematics system (6) situated on a base (1) of the seating furniture, which kinematics system comprises: a base arm that can be rotated about a base axis (A1) relative to the base (1); an end arm, which can be rotated about the base arm about an intermediate axis (A2); and a furniture part, which is mounted to be rotatable about the end arm about an end axis (A3); wherein the three axes (A1, A2 and A3) intersect in a central point (Z, Z1). In order to achieve versatile movability: the pivotable furniture part is the backrest (3); the seat surface (17) is mounted so as to be rotatable, with respect to the backrest (3), about a connection axis (18) extending normally with respect to the plane of symmetry (15); and the seat surface (17) is connected to the base (1) via a support kinematics system (28) which binds at least one degree of freedom.
