Abstract (en)

[origin: GB2604638A] A pallet lifting device 2 has a mast 10 upon which is mounted a load carrying means, such as a pair of tines 20,22, and at least one ground engaging load bearing member, such as a wheel 24, at a lower end of the mast. The load bearing member is moveable, possibly by a ram 32, between a raised position for loading, fig.2, and a lowered position for transportation of the load, fig.3. The load bearing member may be connected to a beam 34 which pivots about a carriage 26 via pin 36 and the carriage may have rollers (28 fig.5) that engage with guide channels (30 fig.4). The lifting device may connect to the mast via releasable mounting using hooks 14 and pins 16, or a quick hitch. A second ram 12 may be connected between the lower end of the mast and the excavator to maintain the load in a level condition.
