[origin: WO2022238214A1] The invention relates to a method for controlling a power supply for a device of a rail vehicle. The device in this instance is started up for a predefined period at recurring times when the rail vehicle is deactivated, in order to perform an assigned task. The device is supplied with power to perform the task by way of an onboard battery of the rail vehicle so long as a state of charge of the onboard battery exceeds a predefined lower power supply limit. The device is supplied with power to perform the task by way of an energy store of the device as soon as the state of charge of the onboard battery of the rail vehicle reaches or drops below the predefined lower power supply limit.
