[origin: WO2023147909A1] A stirrup for equestrian sports comprises: - a footplate, - a rotatable eye with: o an opening for connection with belts for installation of stirrups, o two mounting pins engaging with two of a plurality of holes in a first side branch for setting of rotation of the eye relative to the first side branch, o a cavity inside which a bolt and a spring are installed for connection to the first side branch and for ensuring adjustable distance between the eye and the first side branch in order to provide damping, a first side branch connected to the rotatable eye and to the foot plate, a second side branch connected to the foot plate, wherein the upper part of the second branch ends freely, and wherein rotation of the second side branch is controlled with a locking mechanism affected by force exerted by a foot of the horse rider.
