Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung (300) und ein Verfahren zum Belüften eines Schienenfahrzeugs (100), umfassend einen ersten Kanal (305) zum Führen von Luft und mindestens einen weiteren Kanal (306) zum Führen von Luft, wobei der erste und der weitere Kanal (305, 306) unter Ausbildung eines Zwischenraums (307) voneinander beabstandet angeordnet sind und jeweils mindestens eine Öffnung (310) aufweisen, wobei jeder Kanal (305, 306) über die mindestens eine Öffnung (310) mit einem Beruhigungsvolumen (315) fluidtechnisch verbunden ist, wobei die Vorrichtung (300) mindestens ein Deckenauslasselement (320) zum Auslass von Luft aus dem Beruhigungsvolumen (315) in einen Innenraum (105) des Schienenfahrzeugs (100) umfasst und das Berieslungsvolumen (315) zwischen den Kanälen (305, 306) und dem mindestens einen Deckenauslasselement (320) angeordnet ist.
