Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung (10) zum Aufbewahren eines Seils (12) für ein Abseilgerät, wobei die Vorrichtung (10) das Seil (12), eine Seiltrommel (14) und eine formstabile Seiltasche (16) umfasst, das Seil (12) einen Durchmesser von weniger oder gleich 8 mm aufweist und zumindest anteilig auf der Seiltrommel (14) derart aufgewickelt ist, dass ein erstes Ende (18) des Seiles (12) von der Seiltrommel (14) abrollbar ist, und die Seiltrommel (14) in der Seiltasche (16) derart angeordnet ist, dass das erste Ende (18) des Seils (18) aus einer Öffnung (32) der Seiltasche (16) herausführbar ist. Weiterhin betrifft die Erfindung eine Anordnung umfassend ein Abseilgerät (44) und die obige Vorrichtung (10), wobei das Abseilgerät (44) eine derart ausgestaltete Fliehkraftbremse umfasst, dass ein durch das Abseilgerät (44) hindurchlaufendes Seil (12) im Lauf verlangsambar ist, und das Seil (12) der Vorrichtung (10) durch das Abseilgerät (44) hindurchgeführt ist. Weiterhin betrifft die Erfindung die Verwendung der obigen Anordnung.
