[origin: WO2022233701A1] The invention relates to an aerosol-generating device (10) that comprises a cavity (14) for receiving an aerosol-generating article. The aerosol-generating article (16) comprises an aerosol-forming substrate. The device comprises a heating element (20) arranged at least partly surrounding the cavity. The device further comprises a stopper (18). The stopper is arranged at a distal portion or distal of the cavity. The stopper is configured to stop the aerosol-generating article, when the aerosol-generating article contacts the stopper. The stopper is arranged transversally spanning the distal portion of the cavity. The stopper is arranged such that air can flow from distal of the stopper around the stopper into the cavity. The invention further relates to an aerosol generating system comprising an aerosol-generating device and an aerosol generating article comprising aerosol-forming substrate.
