[origin: WO2022234024A1] The invention relates to a magnetorheological braking device (1) for braking rotational movements, comprising an axle unit (2) and a rotary body (3) which is rotatable about the axle unit (2), wherein the rotatability of the rotary body (3) can be braked in a targeted manner by means of a magnetorheological braking apparatus (4) having a coil unit (24). A receiving chamber (13) is formed between the axle unit (2) and the rotary body (3), which receiving chamber is provided with a magnetorheological medium (34), the magnetorheological medium (34) comprising magnetorheological particles and gas as a filling medium. The receiving chamber (13) with the magnetorheological medium (34) is sealed between the parts moving relative to one another by means of a sealing device (7) with a sealing unit (37) having a contacting sealing lip.
