Abstract (en)

[origin: CA3216918A1] The invention relates to a method for operating a labeling system comprising at least one labeling apparatus for labeling, in particular for price labeling, individual packages, the labeling apparatus comprising, as functional units, at least one feed assembly, a label-dispensing assembly, a label-application assembly, and a printer assembly, which are controlled by a control assembly of the labeling system in a labeling routine, the labeling apparatus comprising a sensor assembly, preferably a camera, by means of which images of each of the packages are recorded, the images of each of the packages being analysed in an analysis routine by means of the control assembly, a classification of each package into a package class being derived by means of this analysis, and the labeling apparatus being controlled in the labeling routine depending on said classification. According to the invention, the analysis routine is based on an application of a trained machine learning model to the images, said application being carried out by means of the control assembly.
