[origin: WO2022238633A1] The invention relates to a method for controlling a motorized opening element (21) with a range of movement on a motor vehicle (20), the method comprising the following actions: (a) detecting an opening signal for the opening element (21); (b) detecting potential object(s) in the range of movement of the opening element (21); (c) motorized opening of the opening element (21) following the action (a) and provided that, and as long as, no potential object(s) are detected in the range of movement of the opening element (21) during the action (b). The invention is characterized in that the action (b) is modulated by the presence of an external device (31) on the opening element (21).
