Embodiments of the present disclosure disclose a paging method and apparatus. The method is performed by a terminal, and comprises: configuring information in response to receiving a multicast broadcast service (MBS) paging message; according to the configured information for the MBS paging message, determining whether the MBS paging message is received, wherein the MBS paging message carries MBS service information. Therefore, by means of configuring a specific paging resource for the MBS paging message, a terminal receives the MBS paging message when the terminal is interested in an MBS service, thereby quickly activating the MBS service and conserving the power of the terminal.
