[origin: WO2022243162A1] The invention relates to a method for preparing a hydrophilic coating of a fluoropolymer material, preferably a fluoropolymer film, comprising the following steps: providing an aqueous dispersion of silicate nanoparticles, applying the silicate dispersion to the fluoropolymer material, and drying the applied coating, whereby a coated fluoropolymer material having a contact angle with water below 30° is obtained. The fluoropolymer material coated in this way is extremely weather-resistant and has a long service life.
