[origin: WO2022243420A1] The invention relates to a stacking apparatus (7) and a stacking method for products (2) in the form of product layers (3), in which method the stacking apparatus (7) loads each of the product layers (3) in a box-like and stackable slip-on container (4), which is open at the bottom, and stores the product layer with this container in a container stack (5), and/or said stacking apparatus removes product layers (3) in slip-on containers (4) from a container stack (5) and unloads the individual product layer (3) from the slip-on container (4). The stacking apparatus (7) comprises a handling apparatus (28) having a multi-axially movable handling device (29) for the slip-on containers (4) and, if applicable, the product layer (3) accommodated in each of them, wherein the handling device (29) is designed to handle the slip-on containers (4), which are open at the bottom, and wherein the product layers (3) in the container stack (5) are located on a container base (43) of a lower slip-on container (4) and are surrounded laterally and at the top by an upper slip-on container (4) positioned above said lower slip-on container.
