[origin: WO2022242836A1] The invention relates to a binary phase-pure copper/zinc hydroxide nitrate of formula (1a), ZnxCu1-x(OH)1.5(NO3)0.5 (1a), in which the relationship 0.3<x≤0.5 applies for the variable x, and to a method for producing same. Copper/zinc hydroxide nitrates according to the invention are particularly suitable for use as oxidising agents in a gas-generating composition for a gas generator, particularly for a safety device, particularly for a safety device in a vehicle.
