[origin: WO2022253634A1] A device for harvesting timber, having a felling head (1), which comprises a gripping and sawing unit, and a tilting device (9), wherein the gripping and sawing unit has gripper arms (4), which are actuable by a first hydraulic cylinder (5), and a cutting element (6), which is pivotable outwards by means of a second hydraulic cylinder (8) and is pivotable with the aid of the tilting device (9), which is actuable by a third hydraulic cylinder (10), from a storage position into a cutting position for the item being harvested (2), wherein the first hydraulic cylinder (5) is connected to a first hydraulic line (19a) for opening the gripper arms (4) and to a second hydraulic line (19b) for closing the gripper arms (5). It is proposed that the tilting device (9) is pivotable from its cutting position into its storage position by pressurization of the second hydraulic line (19b) in a pressure range in which the cutting element (6) remains in an inactive state.
