[origin: WO2022248116A1] The invention relates to a method and a corresponding device for producing or treating a fibrous web, in particular a paper or cardboard web, having the following steps: a) drying the fibrous web in a drying section, b) subsequently cooling at least one first side of the fibrous web by means of a convection cooling process, wherein the fibrous web has a temperature of 65 °C or less, in particular 50 °C or less, on at least the first side after the cooling process, c) applying steam onto at least the first side of the fibrous web, the temperature on the first side equaling at least 70 °C, preferably more than 80 °C or 90 °C, after the steam is applied, and d) treating the fibrous web in at least one calendering nip.
