Abstract (en)
A yarn winding machine (2) includes a feeding portion (6) that feeds yarn, a winding portion (8) that winds the yarn fed from the feeding portion (6) so as to form a package, a yarn storage device (40) that includes a storage roller (41) disposed in a yarn running path for the yarn to run between the feeding portion (6) and the winding portion (8), and rotates the storage roller (41) so as to temporarily store the yarn by winding the yarn sent out from the feeding portion (6) around a storing area (A) of an outer periphery surface of the storage roller (41), a detection device (50) that detects the yarn wound around the outer periphery surface of the storage roller (41), and a control portion (25) that controls rotation of the storage roller (41), and obtains detection data from the detection device (50) so as to determine whether or not a lap-wound part (F) is generated in the storing area (A).
