Die Erfindung betrifft ein Brechaggregat (10), insbesondere einen Prallbrecher, mit einem Schlagrotor (11), mit zumindest einer schwenkbar gelagerten Prallschwinge (20), wobei zwischen dem Schlagrotor (11) und der Prallschwinge (20) ein Brechspalt (15) gebildet ist, wobei die Prallschwinge (20) mittels zumindest eines Spaltverstellmittels (30) entlang eines Verstellwegs verschwenkt werden kann, um eine Spaltbreite des Brechspalts (15) zu verstellen, wobei die Prallschwinge (20) derart gelagert ist, dass ihre Gewichtskraft in Richtung einer Verkleinerung des Brechspalts (15) wirkt. Bei einer hohen Betriebssicherheit wird eine Nachstellung des Brechspalts im laufenden Betrieb ermöglicht, indem zumindest eine Halteeinrichtung (50) vorgesehen ist, die einem Verschwenken der Prallschwinge (20) in Richtung auf den Schlagrotor (11) nachgiebig eine Haltekraft entgegensetzt.
