[origin: WO2023274693A1] The invention relates to a method for testing the functionality of a select-high valve (27) of a brake system (1) having the steps of comparing the pressure in a main supply circuit (2) with the pressure in a service brake circuit (11) and ascertaining that the service brake circuit is being supplied with pressure from the other supply circuit (4) if the pressure in the service brake circuit is higher than the pressure in the main supply circuit (S4); increasing the pressure in the main supply circuit above the pressure of the other supply circuit (S5); comparing the pressure in the main supply circuit with the pressure in the service brake circuit and ascertaining that the service brake circuit is being supplied with pressure from the main supply circuit when the pressure in the service brake circuit at least approximately corresponds to the pressure in the main supply circuit (S7); and ascertaining that the select-high valve is functional if it has been ascertained that the service brake circuit is being supplied with pressure from the other supply circuit and if it has been ascertained that the service brake circuit is being supplied with pressure from the main supply circuit (S8).
