[origin: WO2023280814A1] The invention relates to an apparatus (20) and a method for comminuting a cellulose material stack (22), such as cellulose mats arranged in a stack for example, in particular a cellulose bale (25) or a part of a cellulose bale. The apparatus comprises a comminuting device (24) for comminuting the cellulose material, comprising at least one rotatable comminuting tool (26). The apparatus additionally comprises a feed device (30) for feeding the material stack to the comminuting device along a feed path, wherein the feed device comprises a guide device and a conveyor device which are designed to guide the material stack to the comminuting device while maintaining the stack shape of the material stack.
