The first operation mode has a first maximum torque level of the electric motor per application class and the second operation mode has a second maximum torque level per application class. Furthermore, a hand-held power tool, in particular an impact wrench, having an electric motor and a control unit is disclosed, the control unit being designed for carrying out a method according to the disclosure.

Verfahren zum Betrieb einer Handwerkzeugmaschine, insbesondere einer Drehschlagschraubmaschine, die Handwerkzeugmaschine umfassend einen Elektromotor, das Verfahren umfassend die VerfahrensschritteS1Auswählen einer Anwendungsklasse in Abhängigkeit zumindest einer Härte- und/oder Festigkeitseigenschaft eines Substrats, in welchem eine Verschraubung erfolgen soll;S2Auswählen eines Betriebsmodus aus einer Betriebsmodusgruppe umfassend einen ersten Betriebsmodus und einen zweiten Betriebsmodus, zumindest teilweise auf Grundlage der Anwendungsklasse;wobei der erste Betriebsmodus ein erstes maximales Drehmomentniveau des Elektromotors je Anwendungsklasse aufweist und der zweite Betriebsmodus ein zweites maximales Drehmomentniveau je Anwendungsklasse.Ferner wird eine Handwerkzeugmaschine, insbesondere eine Schlagschraubmaschine, mit einem Elektromotor und einer Steuerungseinheit offenbart, wobei die Steuerungseinheit zur Ausführung eines erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens ausgelegt ist.
