[origin: WO2023285582A1] The invention relates to a low-wear runner for a section insulator to reduce maintenance expenditure. The aim is for the runner to be compatible, as a replacement part, with existing section insulators. In order to increase wear resistance, the runner according to the invention is made of a precipitation-hardenable non-ferrous metal alloy. While the copper materials known as contact-line and runner materials have a maximum operating temperature defined in EN 50119:2020 as a consequence of recrystallization, complete dissolution of the precipitates by recrystallization could not be detected in the runner according to the invention up to a short-term temperature of 700°C.
