[origin: WO2023057407A1] The invention relates to a bell cup (2) for a rotary atomizer (1) for painting components (26), having the following features: • a hub (4) for rotatably mounting the bell cup (2) on the rotary atomizer (1) such that the bell cup (2) can be rotated about an axis of rotation (3), • a peripheral annular spray edge (8) for spraying the paint in the form of a spray jet, and • a peripheral outer lateral surface (9, 10, 11) which widens towards the spray edge (8) in the distal direction along the axis of rotation (3). The invention provides that the outer lateral surface of the bell cup (2) is subdivided into different portions which are differently angled. Furthermore, the invention comprises a rotary atomizer having such a bell cup, a painting installation and a corresponding painting method.
