[origin: WO2023010225A1] A vertical panel saw comprises a frame (2), a saw unit (3) disposed adjustably on the frame (2) and a plurality of panel lowering apparatuses (1, 1', 1"). Each panel lowering apparatus (1, 1', 1") comprises a height adjustment device having an adjustment drive and a panel holder unit (11, 11', 11") disposed on the height adjustment device in a height-adjustable manner to hold a panel (9). The height adjustment device comprises a height-adjustable adjustment carriage and the panel holder unit (11, 11', 11") comprises a lifting carriage. The panel unit (11, 11', 11") is kinematically connected to the adjustment drive via a freewheel, and the freewheel interrupts the kinematic connection between the panel holder unit (11, 11', 11") and the adjustment drive when a panel (9) held by the panel holder unit (11, 11', 11") is placed on a support.
