[origin: WO2023011841A1] The invention relates to a method (S1-S8) for monitoring a cooking product (G) located in a cooking chamber (3) of a domestic cooking appliance (1) during an operating sequence, in particular a cooking process, wherein, based on a sequence of images recorded by means of at least one camera (6), image parameters of the camera (2) are automatically set (S2) at the start of the operating sequence and, over the course of the cooking process, the initially set image parameters are maintained by the camera (6) at least until the occurrence of at least one predefined event (S3). A domestic appliance (1) is configured to allow the method (S1-S8) to proceed. The invention is in particular advantageously applicable to the determination of a degree of browning or progress of browning, in particular in an oven.
