L'invention concerne un dispositif (10) pour ouvrir une boîte de montre comportant un fond fixé à une carrure par emboîtement caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend un posage (11) fixé à un bâti (12) et destiné à maintenir en position une boîte d'une montre, au moins un chariot (13 ; 14) mobile en translation par rapport au bâti (12) selon une direction X, le chariot (13 ; 14) comportant un porte-outil (130 ; 140) auquel est fixé un couteau, le dispositif (10) comporte en outre un élément de commande (16) destiné à être sollicité par un utilisateur, relié cinématiquement au chariot (13 ; 14) par l'intermédiaire d'un organe de transmission configuré de sorte que lorsque l'élément de commande (16) est sollicité, le chariot (13 ; 14) est entraîné en translation vers le posage (11) ou dans un sens opposé au posage (11).
